
James & Eileen Pay
Eileen and Jim have travelled extensively since 1997 until 2004 and have resided in Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands in the Caribbean, Freeport in the Bahamas and latterly in Scotland, where most of Western Europe was visited. Returning to Ontario, Canada in 2004.
James E. Pay, AU, was trained as an artist in Canada and USA and lists the last living member of the famous "Group of Seven", A. J. Casson, as his mentor. A member of the Society of European Artists, the United Society of Artists of London, England and a former vice chairman of Central Arts, Scotland.
James is known for his "fast & loose" style of watercolour painting. He focuses on attention to colour design and composition, presented in a friendly and relaxing manner.

Your base camp for your adventure, take the day to settle in and adjust to your surroundings. Facilities include lakeside cabins, log style motel and a restaurant.

Visit the historic town of Carcross. Over one hundred years ago was the stage of boat builders and eager prospectors preparing themselves for the journey up the Yukon River to strike fortune in the Klondike Goldfields. Carcross was also former home of Ted Harrison. Some of the images of the day could include the train bridge, the historic Train Station, Bennett Lake or the oldest operating store in the Yukon, Matthew Watson General Store.

Wheaton Valley, Yukon an area of sparse beauty, abundant wildlife, and archaeological significance. This remote mountain landscape amidst the clouds is also the ancestral hunting ground of the Tlingit people.

After arriving on site Jim will do a short demonstration on technique after which everyone will find their own spot to paint. Jim and Roel will visit everyone as they work to see if anyone needs any assistance.

The headwaters of the Yukon River, the south Klondike Highway carves through the scenic mountains. You'll see the old mining remains from the boom and bust town, Conrad City (circa 1905).

Today we'll board Steam Engine 73 at Fraser, BC and travel by train to Bennett. At Bennett we'll spend 2 hours painting the historic station and/or the historic Church. Tour includes photo run-bys.

Spend the last day relaxing at the lodge and go for a scenic paddle on Spirit Lake.
After lunch we review the art we have created and say our goodbyes.

The United Society of Artists of London, England announced April 29, 2006, that, following his presentation of artwork, James E. Pay, UA, has become a full signature member of the Society. Entitlement allows Mr. Pay to exhibit his paintings in London each May in the Society exhibition and, at times, in their travelling exhibition through Britain.
